So, here are just some of Henry's antics from the past few weeks:
{I}
A few days ago, after washing and sorting loads and loads of laundry, I went downstairs in the laundry room to find something for Henry to wear. When I got there, Henry's pile was gone. I figured Andrew or even Henry must have put everything away, but when I looked in Henry's dresser, none of the clean clothes were there. I started to wonder if I was losing my mind. I went back downstairs and looked in the laudry basket, but none of Henry's clothes were there. I looked in the dirty clothes hamper wondering if I had somehow forgotten to wash Henry's clothes. Finally, when I couldn't figure out where his clothes might have disappeared to, I asked Henry if he knew where all his clean clothes were.
Henry looked at me very matter-of-factly and pointed to the large backpack that was sitting at the end of his bed. When I opened it up, I found all his clean clothes shoved inside. I asked Henry why he had put all his clothes in the backpack and he said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "I packed for California." (Too bad we aren't leaving for another three weeks.)

Henry is still very active when he is supposed to be asleep. The other night about a half hour after I put Henry and Peter to bed, I could still hear them goofing around in their bedroom. I went into their room to settle them down but when I got there, Henry was no where to be found. Peter was apparently having a party all by himself. I looked around the room (and it's a tiny room so it didn't take long) but there was no Henry. I looked in the closet and there was no Henry. I looked under the bed - no Henry. Finally, I decided to check the closet one last time, and upon closer inspection I found Henry sittting inside the diaper box (the big Costco-sized Huggies box) reading a book. The box was just at eye-level, so I didn't even notice him the first time - and he'd had the discipline not to say anything when I opened the door.
Yesterday, I went in to wake Henry and Peter up from their naps and once again, Henry wasn't in his bed. I wondered if he'd already gotten up without my realizing it, so I went and checked the family room and the play room. No Henry. I went back into their bedroom and that was when I noticed a little pair of feet sticking out from under Peter's crib. I looked more closely and found Henry sound asleep on the floor under Peter's bed - apparently more comfortable than his own bed which was only a few feet away.

Henry is just at that age when he loves to pick out his own clothes, but really has no concept of how to do it. Colors and patterns have no relevance in the outfits he chooses. The temperature outside really doesn't determine what he wears. Size doesn't even matter to this kid. To be honest, I actually have no idea how he decides what to wear, but believe me, the combinations he comes up with are incredible.
The other day he came out of his room wearing a t-shirt and a pair of sweats (size 6-12 months.) which were skin tight and thigh high - which makes sense since he is almost four-years-old. Henry could not understand why I wouldn't let him wear the sweats when they obviously fit him so well.
Monday, was a snowy cold day, after a weekend of almost summer-like weather. I told Henry to get his coat on so we could drive Isaac to school. Minutes later, Henry came into the kitchen more than ready to face whatever weather awaited him between the back door and the car which was parked less than six feet away.

Anyway, Henry is a hilarious boy. I am not always entertained by his antics, but even when I am totally frustrated with him, there is a part of me that can't help laughing at the things he comes up with. We love this funny little boy.
