In the cold, dark months of winter there is nothing better than going some place warm, sitting in the sun and letting your bones thaw. Luckily for us, we just got back from a good defrosting. All it took was a sixteen-hour car ride with four kids and an anti-climatic crossing of the Arizona/Mexico border, and we got the sun, sand and surf we all crave and love.
We spent six days playing on the beach with friends, relaxing in the sun, eating guacomole by the sea, and soaking up some rays (after a liberal application of sunscreen, of course.) Andrew got a massage, I got a pedicure, Abby got corn-row braids and we were all much more relaxed and happy after a week of sunshine therapy.
Eating guacamole on the beach with my favorite girl. Now, that is good for the soul.
